DPL Group help FIND Charity DPL were delighted to have yet another opportunity to support a local charity organisation. Families in Need (FIND) Ipswich has offered a lifeline to people in Ipswich and the surrounding areas who are experiencing poverty and despair. Will Jack Marketing Coordinator and Content Producer 21 March 2024 5 min read June 2025 As part of our continued commitment to giving back to the community, we were proud to recently present a cheque for £9371 to FIND, in collaboration with Barens Construction, a vital Suffolk-based charity that provides emergency assistance to people experiencing poverty and crisis. FIND supports individuals and families with essential resources such as food, furniture, household goods, and other urgent items, including help for those facing or experiencing homelessness. Their tireless, compassionate work makes a real difference in the lives of those who need it most, and we’re honoured to play a part in supporting their mission. The cheque was handed over at FIND’s premises by our Director, Vincent Langley. We had the privilege of seeing first-hand the impactful work being done every day. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this donation possible. It’s a reminder of what can be achieved when businesses and communities come together. February 2024 FIND is a Suffolk charity which supports all those in need, regardless of faith or circumstance. They provide free food parcels and personal care items to help people get through a crisis, as well as furniture, bedding and other household items where the person or family has none. They have a great team of over 80 volunteers who regularly give their time freely to check and sort the donated food, collect items from local stores, make up the food parcels and deliver them. Find out more about them here The FIND furniture store has just had its formal opening, whereby the unit was unveiled by Ipswich Town FC manager Kieran McKenna, as Ipswich Town have worked closely with FIND Food Bank over the last couple of seasons. Find out more here DPL has previously carried out work for FIND and we were more than happy to continue our relationship with them. FIND needed further storage to enable them to continue their excellent work in supporting the local community. We installed a power and lighting system, complete with emergency and external security lighting, we installed power to the roller shutter to ensure a secure facility. The main building works were very kindly completed by Barnes Construction, who were also happy to continue to support the local charity, who installed: a 10x7m portal frame clad with insulated Kingspan panels, powered roller shutter and pedestrian access doors, permeable hard landscaped areas and concrete apron to the front. Other contracted work was carried out by Opus groundworks and Omega who supplied and installed the portal frame. At DPL Group, our passion for the design, installation and maintenance of building services goes beyond physical structures – it extends to building connections, supporting local businesses and ensuring a brighter future for our community. FIND thrives off the kind hearts and giving nature of others, which is why it was an excellent opportunity for them to be on the receiving end for once and accept help when they needed it.
