Quantity Surveying & Accounts Assistant

We are looking for a Quantity Surveying & Accounts Assistant to come and join the M&E contracting department here at DPL Group
Full/Part-time: Full Time
Salary: TBC
Location: Ipswich

Main Role:

To assist the Commercial & Procurement Manager with the efficient and effective running of the quantity surveying and procurement within the M&E business.

 

Job Duties (to include but not limited to):

  • Work with the Commercial & Procurement Manager to complete duties as required.
  • Drafting of material and sub-contractor orders based on information provided by Procurement Manager and Project Managers.
  • Maintain records of purchases, pricing, quantities and other important data relating to projects. Produce reports based on this information.
  • Raising and issuing of purchase orders.
  • Understanding of purchasing processes.
  • Negotiate the best deal whilst considering the whole supply chain.
  • Communication with our on-site engineers regarding ordering/collecting of materials.
  • Communication with suppliers/manufacturers to obtain information.
  • Maintain records of payments made to suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Taking care of administrative tasks, such as note taking, correspondence and organising of documents.
  • Create and maintain good relationships with manufacturers/suppliers.
  • Review and analyse all manufacturers/suppliers, supply and price options.
  • Schedule deliveries.
  • Raising and issuing of cost reports within accounting software (Sage).
  • Attend project meetings.
  • Make professional decisions.
  • Ensure that all products are high quality and delivered on time.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 year’s experience in a similar role.
  • Financially astute with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong IT skills inc. good knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience within the construction sector preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting software (Sage).
  • Able to prioritise tasks and see through to completion.
  • Confident within communication both verbal and written to all.
  • Ability to ask questions and develop individually.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Work unsupervised and prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Proactive, reliable & punctual.
  • Being a team player.
